As business owners, we all want to do whatever we can to get our name out there. One way is bYouTubey increasing your online presence. When it comes to YouTube, there are some things that you can do to get your video ranked on the first page of Google and we are going to tell you how.

First of all, anyone can shoot a one minute video to pitch a product or service. Get your trusty camera and just start talking. It’s as simple as that. But how do you make sure your video is easily found for the world to see?

Video Title – Using keywords in your title is very important. You need to think about what others are going to search for. For example, if someone is searching for a contractor to repair something in their home, and they live in Chicago, IL, they may search for “Home Repair Chicago” or “Home Repair Contractor Chicago, IL”. If you are shooting a video that is introducing your business, you want to give it a title that includes both your keyword and your city/state.

Video Description – Your description is also an important part of your video. The first thing you want in your video description is your website. Then you want to add information about your business. Try to get in as much information as you can (try for 600 – 800 characters total). It is crucial that you add a call to action such as a phone number where people can easily reach you. Also include things like your business name, address and phone number as well as some links to other pages you have such as a Facebook page or Google+ page. Here is how your description should look…

Tags – In the tags section, you can use more keywords to make it easier for your video to be found. Try to use at least 20 tags. YouTube will tell you if you have too many when you are adding them. So, if you are a home repair contractor, your tags may look like this (Note, all tags need to be separated with commas):

home repair, home repair contractor, chicago il, chicago il home repair, roof repair chicago, business name, best home repair contractor, handyman chicago il, repair, remodeling chicago il…

Another thing to keep in mind is that you need to keep your videos between one minute and 2 minutes. If your video is too long, the viewer may get “bored” with it. Getting you name out there is important for any business owner. If you use these tips when loading a video to YouTube, you are sure to be found a little easier online.
